What is a "Lonely Frontier?"

The Lonely Frontier is the internet. Or at least, what the internet used to be, before it turned into a nazi-run panopticon where everything looks like shit, runs worse, and is all in service to say something fucked up about a minority group.

It's exploring the digital space, much like the romanticized concept of a lone astronaut exploring the cosmos. You float around, sometimes finding something worth stopping for. You might even share this discovery with others. In the end, though, it's ultimately just you exploring all alone. This analogy made a lot more sense back in 2008, before the concept of online got all fucked up.
